“Canada's national voice for the protection of equines from slaughter, is proud to be a supporter of the unified call to stop the BLM's betrayal of North America's wild horses.  The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act was designed to protect, not eliminate wild horses and burros.  The current round-ups and planned sterilization programs spell a certain end to the heritage and history of these magnificent animals that have roamed the wilds of North America for hundreds of years.  On behalf of many Canadian supporters, we urge the American government to continue to work for the preservation of all wild herds, not manage them to extinction.”

~ The Canadian Horse Defence Coalition

"The government is acting in defiance of the spirit
and intent of the 1971 Free Roaming Wild Horses
              and Burros Act (
1971 Act)
which Congress passed
              unanimously
—Julianne French, wild horse advocate.

Horseback Magazine Headline “EWA and The Cloud Foundation Demand Obama Stop BLM Wild Horse Roundups - As Dignitaries and Groups Sign On”

“It is time for President Obama to step forward and pull the plug on one of his own government divisions (BLM) which continually violates the intent of Federal Law, ignores the orders of individual Congressmen and Senators while thumbing it's nose at the wishes of the American public.  It is obvious that the BLM is out of control when it ignores it's own scientific findings, cannot verify it's counting/accounting processes, nor find a creditable answer when asked why the gathers are proceeding when the same agency wanted to euthanize tens of thousands of captured horses, last year, because they could not afford to feed them.

As an American my blood ran cold when I asked a BLM official, during the Pryor Mountain Gather, "Why are you doing this?"; a rude smile appeared on the individuals lips, the head tilted downward so that I could see the gleam of dark eyes over the top of sunglasses and the words, "Because we can!" reached my ears like the hiss of a snake.

It's time to bring this agency under control.

      Editorial Opinion:
Why I Have To Support The Moratorium

These horses are connected to this land; their ancestors roamed
unfettered on it over a million years ago. They represent the basic
principal that our nation was founded on: FREEDOM. These animals
are the physical embodiment of all that we as people and as a nation
aspire to… liberty and self-determination. And at some level that
resonates with each and every one of us. With every BLM round up
that is allowed to happen, our heritage is under siege.”

~ Mariana Tosca, Actor and Social Activist

Virginia City News | Lacy Dalton - Country Star Shines

“We ask that President Obama or Secretary Salazar cease
all BLM roundups as of this date to prevent further suffering.
We request that the government and BLM begin to work in
good faith with wild horse advocates for a sustainable solution.
The Calico Roundup, scheduled to begin in December and
continue through the dead of winter, is inhumane and must be
     stopped!”
—Sheryl Crow

                           Letter from Winecup/Gamble

“We already have enough wild horses in pens. Adding more horses
to those already held in confinement, when they are much safer
on the range is shortsighted, inhumane and fiscally irresponsible.”
